Ticket Information
Use the ACE ticket order form to purchase tickets by mail. Return the completed form to: Ticketing Department Click here for the order form Since the Altamont Commuter Express is a barrier-free system, riders must validate their tickets before boarding. There are two ways of doing this, depending on the type of ticket you're using: if you're using a one-way, round-trip or twenty trip ticket, you MUST validate the ticket in a Ticket Validation Machine (TVM) before boarding. These machines are easy to use and are available at each boarding platform. If you're using a monthly pass, the procedure is even easier: simply sign the back, and you're set for the month! After boarding the train, be sure to display your valid ticket in a plastic sleeve (ACE provides these to passengers). Train attendants and Fare Inspectors check the tickets for validation as they greet the passengers between stations. To exchange an old ticket please submit the following: a completed Ticket Exchange Form, your original ticket, and payment for the balance of the exchange (difference between the credit for the old ticket and the cost of a new ticket). All Exchange forms must be mailed to ACE Headquarters, 949 E. Channel St., Stockton, CA 95202. Important note: Ticket exchange is processed through ACE Headquarters. Station vendors and other ticket sales locations cannot issue credit or process ticket exchanges. Printer
Friendly Exchange Form To use the Fare chart select origin and destination stations. Use the chart to determine the ticket price based on destinations. Copy of Fare Schedule Table (pdf)
Discount tickets for people with disabilities, seniors, and children are available. Proof of discount eligibility is required for purchase and must be carried while on board the train.
Regional Transit Connection (RTC) Discount Card ID program The RTC Discount ID Card is available to qualified persons with disabilities and senior citizens, 65 years of age or older. The card makes it easier for you to demonstrate your eligibility for reduced fares on fixed-route transit bus, rail and ferry systems throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
